  1. meaningful and relevant
  2. definite and direct
  3. clear and coherent
  4. simple but challenging enough and thought provoking
  5. suitable to the age, level and ability of learners
  6. understandable and answerable
  7. concise and to the point
  8. interesting and within the experience of the learners
