Communication in the Classroom

8c i). Briefly ,explain the  four common types of classroom communication:

  1. Exposition: This is where the speaker describes, informs, instructs or explains.
  2. Question and answer exchanges: These are used to test understanding, recall and are mainly closed with the learners giving one right answer.
  3. Discussion:This is where the participants explore ideas or issues together as a class or as small groups. It is mainly open-ended.
  4. Listening: This is a situation where the receiver hears and responds to the speech of other people in a learning situation.
