3a iii) What are the disadvantages of media production?

It should be noted here that teacher-made production has its own disadvantages. Some of the disadvantages are:

  • The production is of low quality because [he techniques employed are “usually non-professional in quality. The production has low commonality in that what is produced to suit a particular group may not be used in other environments
  • The costs of production in terms of time and materials cannot be justified for the limited local use.
  • Materials used for teacher-made materials are more often than not of poor quality and hence not durable.
  • Unavailability of materials in most schools hampers the production of the resources
